The Devil is Also an Angel

Deeds Of Arms Even The Devil is An Angel

There is an innumerable amount of anthropomorphizing analogies that serve many purposes.

Some to provide motivation and some to inspire cohesion within a group.

Dave Grossman’s Sheep, Sheepdog, and Wolves are the most famous.

Sheep are productive, peaceful people, the Wolves being the evil people among us, and the Sheepdog being the righteous warriors of society.

Dave Grossman is also a Christian, so he also emphasized Shepard’s (Jesus Christ) role in the life of the Sheepdog.

It worked for what he was doing at the time.

Today, I find this method of inspiration to have a short-term positive effect.

It is problematic to think we are different from those who oppose us.

Time and time again, I have spoken about how most training programs dedicate their time to training for the “dumb bad guy.”

The dumb bad guy practically destroys himself.

The idea of training for someone or a group with minimal training and resources only provides a false sense of security.

It helps people cope with avoiding what they know they should be doing because “those guys are not people like me, and they don’t have as many resources as I do.”

Child soldiers destroy opposing tribes using a rusted AK, missing a front sight.

Hands and feet are the choice weapon of domestic criminals.

We are all the same animals, part of different tribes.

Even the devil is an angel. His greatest trick is convincing the world he doesn’t exist.

We allowed that to happen. The devil fooled us once.

They are not like us, or they are less than is being fooled twice.

Temperamentally there is no difference between the International CEO, the dominant athlete, and the powerful crime boss.

Let go of the dumb bad guy idea—train to fight the best version of yourself.

Stand firm with a high moral character. Do not tolerate those who do not have such a character.

Disassociate with those who live a lifestyle abhorrent to you.

It is undoubtedly true that evil is not like you, but don’t confuse that as they are easily defeated.

Underestimate them at your peril.

The terrible unknown relentlessly works to tear down the walls of society and culture.
